Large Print Cryptograms
The noble, patient art of the codebreaker
Each letter of the text has been replaced by another, always the same one. Find one, and it fills in everywhere at once. Depending on the text, 1 to 4 letters are given to you to start.
Three texts to decode
How to play
With the keyboard: the arrow keys move, a letter fills every square that carries the same code, Backspace clears. The small sign under each square is the code, not the answer.
Where these sentences come from
They are written in-house. No quotations, no borrowed proverbs: the texts of our cryptograms are written in-house.
This is not an author’s fussiness. A saying that sounds traditional is often a twentieth-century text still under copyright, and a translation has its own rights, even when the original is free. Writing our sentences ourselves is the simple way to be sure.
